The General Command of the Armed Forces issued a statement saying that the army was able to monitor, track and destroy a series of terrorist outposts that armed groups use as a refuge and base, announcing the successes of the armed forces from July 22 to 30. August in the fight against terrorism.

The statement read the following:

As part of completing the armed forces’ efforts to combat terrorism in all strategic directions of the state, and in continuation of successive successes, the armed forces were able to monitor, track, and destroy a number of terrorist outposts that the Takfiri elements use it as a refuge and base to carry out their terrorist operations and terrorize safe citizens. Efforts during the period from 7/22/2020 to 8/30/2020 with the following successes:

Destroy 317 acres, shelters and a warehouse for explosives in North Sinai, which the Takfiri forces use as shelters for themselves and to stockpile weapons and ammunition.

Attack and destroy (10) four-wheel drive vehicles used by Takfirist elements to carry out their terrorist operations.

Several (73) takfir fighters were killed and used the shelters as hideouts.

In addition, a series of specific operations were carried out, which resulted in the death of (2) extremely dangerous penitential individuals, and in their possession (2) automatic rifles, (5) a safe and an explosive belt, as well as the murder of (2) an expiatory person and wounding a person who was treated in a hospital. The Armed Forces, during the interrogation, were found in their possession (4) automatic rifles, (6) a safe, quantities of ammunition of various calibers, explosives, a motorcycle and (3) machines for lifting water, subsistence tools and sums of money.

In the context of the tightening of security measures in the strategic western direction, the Air Force managed to attack and destroy 9 four-wheel drive vehicles loaded with weapons and ammunition while trying to penetrate the western borders.
