The Ministry of Health and Population announced, this Monday, that 703 people recovering from the Coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, raising the total of those who recover from the virus to 114,601 cases to date.
Dr Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesman for the ministry, stated that 1,277 new cases were registered that were positive in laboratory tests of the virus, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures, investigation and examination carried out by the ministry in accordance with World Health Organization guidelines, pointing to 58 new deaths.
Mujahid said that according to the World Health Organization recommendations issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
“Mujahid” stated that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus as of Monday is 143,464 cases, including 114,601 cases that have been cured and 7,863 deaths.
