The Ministry of Health and Population announced, this Tuesday, that 423 people recovered from the coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization. This brings the total of people recovering from the virus to 119,635 cases to date.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, adviser to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesman for the ministry, stated that 970 new cases were registered that were positive in laboratory analysis of the virus, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures, investigation and an examination that the ministry carries out in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, indicating the death of 55 new cases.
Mujahid said that according to the World Health Organization recommendations issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
“Mujahid” stated that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus as of Tuesday is 151,723 cases, including 119,635 cured cases and 8,304 deaths.
The Ministry of Health and Population continues to increase its preparations in all the governorates of the Republic, follows first-hand the situation of the “emerging corona” virus and takes all necessary preventive measures against any virus or infectious disease, and the ministry has also assigned a number of media to receive inquiries from citizens on the emerging corona virus and infectious diseases. These include the hotline “105”, “15335” and the WhatsApp number “01553105105”, in addition to the “Egypt Health” application available on phones.
