The Ministry of Health and Population announced this Saturday that 654 people recovering from the Coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, raising the total of who have recovered from the virus to 113,480 cases to date.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, adviser to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesman for the ministry, said that 1407 new cases were registered that were positive in laboratory analysis of the virus, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures, investigation and an examination that the ministry carries out in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, indicating the death of 54 new deaths.
Mujahid said that according to the World Health Organization recommendations issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
“Mujahid” stated that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus as of Saturday is 140,878 cases, including 113,480 cured cases and 7,741 deaths.
