He added that despite the increase in the number of infections, they are considered minor injuries compared to the first wave, adding that 19 isolation hospitals were assigned at the start of the pandemic, and then the hospitals providing Corona virus services gradually increased. to 101, then to 111 and 150 hospitals, until reaching 363. A nationwide hospital to manage the coronavirus pandemic and provide medical services to citizens during the pandemic.
The minister added that these hospitals have 35,000 beds, 4,500 care beds and 2,500 ventilators, noting that the hospitals have another 200 ventilators and that there is an isolation hospital in each governorate to cover all neighborhoods and provide medical services to facilitate to citizens and prevent overcrowding. The Minister affirmed that the priority in the distribution of the vaccine will be to the eligible groups, respectively, that is, the medical teams in isolation hospitals, thorax and fevers, in addition to cancer patients, patients with kidney failure, people with chronic diseases among the elderly and cardiovascular patients, through the database of the president’s initiative.
