On Saturday, the Lebanese Interior Ministry announced the arrest of 3 Egyptians, based on a letter from Egyptian Interpol on suspicion of raping a girl in a Cairo hotel in 2014.

In a statement on Saturday, the Director General of Internal Security Forces said: “On 8/27/2020, a letter was sent from the Interpol office in Egypt to the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, which includes the names of seven people of Egyptian nationality, who are in Lebanon, accused of raping a girl within a year. A video of the incident was presented to the Egyptian judiciary in 2014 at a hotel in Cairo.

The order was immediately given to carry out the necessary investigations and investigations, and the specialized divisions of the Information Division began their procedures, so it was clear that 5 out of 7 had entered Lebanon on previous dates, then two of them left, and the number was placed on 3 suspects within Lebanese territory. It turned out that the aforementioned had left the hotels in which they were guests, leaving their suitcases inside the rooms.

And through monitoring, their whereabouts were determined, in the town of Fatqa, where a force from the division raided the place on Friday night, and managed to arrest them, based on the discriminatory signal from the Public Ministry.
