Edmonton Oilers forward Leon wins Dresital Heart Trophy, given to NHL’s most valuable player

The Stanley Cup final is in Edmonton, and Oilers star Leon Deresetle made history Monday night.

Just had more to do with his hometown with his home area.

Isa1 has become the first German player to win a heart trophy as a Dresital MVP after leading the league with 110 points in games. Ted Lindsay also received the Most Outstanding Player award, according to teammates.

Deresitel joins former NBA star Dirk Nouvitzki as the only German player to have won MVP honors in four major North American professional sports leagues.

“Dirk was clearly someone I admire, someone I admire: the way he presents himself and the way he really achieved everything that a North American professional athlete has to achieve.” Said Daracitl. “It’s always someone I look up to [to] And it is a great honor for me to have a conversation with him. “

In a poll by the Professional Hockey Key Writers’ Association, Dra Resitt finished ahead of Colorado Avalanche Center Nathan McKinnon and New York Rangers winger Artemis Parin. He scored 43 goals, and his career was high despite his ass 67 assists shortening the regular season.

Winnipeg’s Colonel Halebuek won the Vezina Trophy as the top goalkeeper, Nashville’s Roman Joshi won the Norris Trophy as the best defender, and Colorado’s Kal Makar won the Keller’s Trophy as Rookie of the Year.

Deresital is the second O’Leary player to win Hart in the last four years, following Connor M. Kadavid, widely regarded as the best hockey player in the world. DrySattle played with and with McDavid this season and produced more.

“I think Connor and I have a very healthy, great, competitive relationship, and we just try to make each other better every day.”

Simply, of course – Edmonton was eliminated in the qualifying round of the extended 24-team playoffs despite playing games in the home rink. Minutes before the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning faced off in Game 2 of the final, Drycittle virtually accepted Hart and Ted Lindsay from their home in Cologne, Germany, where they were already early Wednesday morning.

Playoff performances are not counted for these awards, but Dresitt scored three goals and six points to help the Blackhawks lose to Edmonton in the qualifying round.

Dresitl did not have to celebrate with family members as they were in their sleep, and he is still playing for a chance to win a title and will add another white “NHL Stan Lay UP Champions Champions” banner to the rafters at Rogers Place.

“It’s a nice personal reward,” Daracitle said. “But there’s nothing going on beyond the Stanley Cup. It’s the same for any player in the league. If I can give those two or three awards back for the Stanley Cup, I can do it in a hurry, and I think everyone will.”

Halebuk is the first player in the Jets / Atlanta Thrashers franchise to win Vetsina. After backsteping the Winnipeg team with the injured blue line, he was overtaken by Boston’s Toukka Rask and Tampa Bay’s Andre Vasilevsky in voting by general managers.

“It almost feels like I’m getting a little bit of a monkey off my back,” said the 27-year-old American, who said one of his goals was to win Vezina.

Joshi won the first Norris at the age of 30 after setting a career high with 16 goals, 49 assists and 65 points. He overtook John Carlson of Washington and Victor Headman of Tampa Bay, who later became a finalist for the fourth year in a row and is a candidate for the playoff MVP.

“He’s one of those people who could probably win this award every year,” Joshi said of Headman.

Capricorn knocked out Vancouver defender Quinn Hughes in a tight race for the calendar. The 21-year-old played 21 minutes per game and was the second leading scorer of the avalanche behind Manc Keenan.

With Yumas’ first-round pick, Makar led the first-year defense in goals (12) and second in assists (38) and points (50), helping to take Avalanche to the second-best record in the West.

Like Daracitl, Capricorn was awarded by Wayne Gretky on the (virtual) Honors Flair awards show. Made it more special.

“It was great to have Wayne Gretzky give it to me,” McCarthy said. “I’ve never met him before, so it was a pretty surreal moment for me.”

The Ilers have actually drafted three of the last four Heart winners. In addition to Daraisatl and M.D. Kadevid, former ilers Ellers forward Taylor Hull won the Le Hart while in 2018 with the New Jersey Devils.
