Earl Thomas
Three weeks before the Ravens are scheduled to open the season at home against the Browns, Baltimore has to deal with a major staff crisis following a practice dust-up on Friday.
Earl Thomas, a seven-time All-Pro safety who is entering his second season with the Ravens, was ‘sent home from the facility Friday after a fight with teammate Chuck Clark,’ Tom Pelissero report on Saturday morning. Shortly after Pelissero’s report, The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec sei Thomas was not on the practice field. And then it came whopper by Jason LaCanfora:
‘Continue to listen too [Ravens’] Players have expressed strong support for DeShon Elliott as an increasing safety like Earl Thomas would let go and players there would also like free agent Tony Jefferson, who is almost the very end of the season-ending season. ‘
Thomas has a fully guaranteed $ 10 million salary by 2020, but the guarantee “evaporates if he is stopped by the Ravens for conduct that harms the team,” said Mike Florio, who received a copy of Thomas’ contract . ‘Even if they could avoid the guarantee, Thomas’ cut would result in a $ 5 million cap charge in 2020 and another $ 10 million in 2021. If the suspension were successful, the Ravens would balance the 2021 cap hit with a credit of $ 10 million. ”
Thomas signed a four-year $ 55 million deal ($ 32 million guaranteed) in March 2019 after spending the first nine years of his career in Seattle.
$ 1.3-billion vacuum cleaner
The NFL is letting teams establish their own attendance policy this season, and several teams have already announced zero fans as limited participation for at least their home games in the starting season. The Cowboys plan to allow some fans in line with the state of Texas at 50% capacity … because AT&T Stadium is like a vacuum cleaner when the roof is open.
It is unclear if Jones’ claim has any basis in scientific reality and / if the Cowboys AT&T Stadium will fill up to 50% of its capacity.
$ 591.68
Cal received $ 2 million in product and $ 150,000 in cash from Nike in 2016–17, the final year of the Golden Bears’ long-standing relationship with the world’s largest shoe manufacturing manufacturer. One year later, Cal received a $ 3 million signing bonus, $ 4.76 million in product and $ 3.5 million in cash from Under Armor in the first year of a 10-year, $ 86-million apparel deal …that was never drawn.
In late June, it was reported Under Armor wanted to end its deals with Cal and UCLA, which signed a 15-year, $ 280 million deal in 2016, and its case rests on a few key pieces, including a third-party apartment sales of $ 591.68, according to Jon Wilner, who received a copy of Under Armor’s announcement in June:
“The first [claim] calls for force majeure (that is, the ‘act of God’ clause) and claims that Cal failed to pursue contractual obligations to Under Armor due to the cessation of college sports during the coronavirus pandemic. The second claim focuses on the sale, by a third-party operator, of $ 591.68 in clothing from Cal’s long-awaited days as a Nike customer. ”
