Streamer Dr Disrespect has returned to streaming on YouTube.
In a send out titled “Dr. Disrespect is BACK. And Viewing the Whole World”, Dr. Disrespect – whose real name is Guy Beahm – aired over the weekend to an audience of 510,000 viewers (thank you, Gamespot).
Beahm streamed out the stream in an open-hearted address with his audience about his mysterious Twitch ban. “A lot of people want to know … they want to know what happened.” Why are you banned? “Beahm said.” Guess what? I want you to see me in ef – royal eyes when I say this, okay? We have no idea yet.
“We have no idea. And I’ll tell you this right now … as far as I’m concerned, we did not what then to warn a ban, let alone how they went about banning us. No communication for. No range. Nothing at all. Boom. Clear. “
While there is no confirmation of a formal deal between Beahm and YouTube, the streamer acknowledged that he “lets legal professionals do what they have to do” in connection with his “heavy contract” with Twitch.
Dr Disrespect was permanently banned from Twitch in June. It remains unclear why Dr Disrespect was removed from the streaming platform, although Dr Disrespect was quick to issue a statement saying the company had not confirmed the “specific reason” as to why his channel was deleted.
“Like our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service,” a Twitch representative told the press at the time. “These apply to all streamers, regardless of status or prominence in the community.”
Prior to his removal, Dr Disrespect had more than four million followers on the streaming platform, as well as that “heavy” exclusivity contract with Twitch.
Beahm is obviously no stranger to controversy. As we briefly summarized, during E3 2019, Beahm had a cameraman running around him, streaming his experience live. He followed him into the male bathrooms at the event, while continuing to stream, which is in violation of convention rules. He was subsequently arrested by Twitch and his E3 badge was withdrawn, but two weeks later his Twitch channel was re-tuned.
In August last year, Musician Jimmy Wong called out Dr. DisRespect for being outwardly racist in stream and performing caricatures of Chinese accents.
There’s a lot to be excited about in gaming this year. Here are the upcoming games of 2020 we just can not wait.
