Another gentleman. Second husband. Another dude. Despite having an official Jewish degree, Ehhof, who is Jewish, is making history in his own way, a reflection of the nation’s changing political and gender norms.
Amhoff, a successful entertainment lawyer, was a seemingly quiet and supportive presence on the campaign trail when Harris was running for president during the Democratic primary. Harris dropped out of the primary race in December and Biden joined in running as his running mate.
Amhof was moving away from the spotlight, and was often seen backstage or on the edge of the crowd playing Harry’s “Kamala” T-shirt at events. But they are active on social media, their supporters calling themselves #DougHive by modeling H. Hris and #KHive.
Last year she made a note when a protesting senator came close enough to grab her microphone after she ran on stage to save Harris.
Amhoff also defended Harris when the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., retorted a racist lie that Harris was not a black American because of race and immigration from India.
