Donald Trump is affiliated with Triller, a New York-based rival to China’s TikTok.
After two days on the social media app, the US president has 11,000 followers.
TikTok was banned in India two months ago. Mr. Trump wants to pursue the case unless it sells the U.S. version of the app and has signed executive orders targeting both it and another Chinese social media app, Tencent’s WeChat.
Both India and the US are fearing data collected by the TikTok could be given to the Chinese government.
TikTok strongly denies this and says that none of the data of its international users is stored in China.
However, Microsoft is currently in negotiations with TikTok to buy the company as part of it.
Meanwhile, Mr. Trump’s team has released four thriller videos.
The first, who claims to be a “professional at technology”, has been viewed 6.1 million times.
In the others, the president thanked “Boaters for Trump” and referred to his election opponent, Joe Biden.
Despite launching in 2016, a year later than Triller, TikTok is estimated to have been downloaded more than two billion times, compared to its US rival 250 million.
But another American app, Byte, is also a rival and Facebook has set up a similar platform called Reels.
