Donald Trump holds his first tele-meeting with Wisconsin supporters due to ‘COVID problem’

Donald Trump held his first tele-meeting with Wisconsin supporters on Friday when he bowed to pressure to change his campaign trail virtually because of the ‘Covid problem’.

The president delivered a 22-minute speech Friday night where he pointed to China about the coronavirus pandemic, criticized the “radical left” for “indoctrinating our children with hatred” and warned that the United States “will never recover” if not here I did not vote for a second term.

The telephone demonstration marked a major setback for the president who moved ahead with his controversial demonstration in Tulsa last month, despite calls by health experts and local officials to suspend it.

The decision to move forward was costly, as a senior local health official admitted that the ‘more than likely’ concentration triggered an increase in new cases of the deadly virus across Oklahoma.

Trump told his followers that he will hold telephone meetings until the ‘COVID-19 problem’ is resolved.

The president took the opportunity to attack China for its handling of the outbreak, referring to its popular name for COVID-19 as the “China virus” and criticizing the country saying that “they could have stopped it.”

Hello, Wisconsin. I’m really excited to be with you tonight, ” Trump began at the tele-rally, which showed a roll of photos of the president over the phone as he spoke.

‘We have a COVID problem, a COVID-19 problem, as you know. I call it the China virus, it shouldn’t have happened, but it did. They could have stopped him.

“But I wanted to be with you and this is really replacing our demonstrations that we all love so much.”

He added: “We had major protests in Wisconsin and across the country and unfortunately until this is resolved, and we are doing really well with therapeutics and vaccines, but until that is resolved it will be difficult to have those massive mass protests .

Trump said the form of the plan now is to hold “phone meetings” and said “we will call them on the phone, Trump meetings, but we will do it by phone.”

He then launched into a self-congratulatory speech in which he recounted what he said were several successes the United States has seen since winning the presidential race in 2016.

Trump praised his handling of the pandemic, claiming that he “did the right thing” and “saved millions of lives.”

“Our testing program is the best in the world,” he bragged, saying that more than 50 million Americans have been conducted so far.

He also stated that the United States is “close to winning the jackpot in therapy and vaccines.”

This occurs when Trump has been repeatedly criticized for his handling of the crisis, in particular for his early denial of his seriousness.

In February, when cases increased across the country, he maintained that the risk to American life was “very low.”

Fast forward five months and more than 139,000 Americans have been killed by the virus.

Trump continued to praise his economic success, saying that the United States has the “largest economy in the history of the world” and that the stock market is at a “record high.”

“Our economy is starting to work really well,” he said.

‘We had the two largest job numbers in history in the past two months, we have created more jobs. The stock market is at its highest point. ‘

He continued: “We built the largest economy we’ve ever had, the highest stock market, the best job numbers for African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans … women … everyone is doing very well.”

“We build the largest economy in the history of the world, not only within our borders,” he added.

Unemployment data casts doubt on Trump’s claims.

More than 50 million people have been laid off during the coronavirus pandemic.

While the numbers have been dropping steadily for 14 weeks, the latest Labor Department data released Thursday remains at a historically high level.

The figure has now topped a million for 17 consecutive weeks. Before the pandemic, the record for weekly jobless claims was nearly 700,000.

Trump also used the phone rally to attack his Democratic rivals, particularly “sleepy Joe Biden,” and warned that they are “indoctrinating our children with hatred.”

“It is a choice between our real movement with what we have done with the American patriots and what we have done with this country and what you see happening on the other side is simply not acceptable,” he said.

“The radical left: if you think of it as a left-wing mafia and they want to refine the police, they want to increase your taxes, they want to destroy our history, they want to get rid of our great history and they want to demolish, and that will happen, they will demolish the economy ”

It hit some of Biden’s policies, particularly focusing on immigration.

“So if people enter the country illegally, they get a free community college,” he scoffed. “Our own people don’t understand this.”

He added that the border wall between the US and Mexico will be completed in late 2020 or soon after and said he plans to “go after the European Union” because “we have been treated very poorly for years” in terms of trade agreements.

Trump ended the call with a dramatic warning that it will be a “disaster” from which the United States “will never recover” if the Democrats win in November.

Dr. Bruce Dart, city and county health director, said he can “connect the dots” of an increase in cases to Trump’s concentration at the BOK Center.

Trump came under fire for hosting the campaign event, the first in nearly three months, in a nearly 20,000-seat stadium during the pandemic.

Attendees were told that they wore masks and that social distancing was optional for their administration.

The campaign had predicted that the rally would bring record participation.

Instead, about 6,200 people gathered inside the 19,000-seat BOK Center arena, far less than expected.
