Dodgers to sell seats fitted with cutouts of fan faces

Your real self may not be able to enjoy a game at Dodger Stadium this season, but your virtual self may.

The Dodgers are the last team to join the cutout craze – submit a photo and the team will turn it into a cutout and display it on a seat throughout the season. If the camera locks in the right place, you could see your face in a game while watching television.

The Dodgers will conduct a pre-sale for season ticket holders on Tuesday afternoon, with cutbacks available to the public on Wednesday.

The team is charging $ 149 or $ 299 for the season, depending on location, and proceeds will go to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. The $ 149 cuts will be shown on the field and in the classroom levels, with the $ 299 cuts on the seats most likely to be seen on television: the pirate club behind the plate and the new “home run” seats immediately behind the garden wall.

The Dodgers will not allow fans to demonstrate loyalty to another team: “Cutouts cannot be used to cheer on an opposing team.”

But they also won’t let him virtually interrupt the Houston Astros, with “offensive or negative references to any MLB team” strictly prohibited.

The Dodgers said the cutouts will be made from a weather-resistant material, and fans will be able to take theirs home after the season. In case the team is able to sell tickets later in the season, the Dodgers said they “will reserve the right to relocate or remove the fan cuts”, with no refunds or credits to the buyers of the cuts.

The San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics and Milwaukee Brewers are among other teams that sell clippings, and the Giants offer season ticket holders free and sell them for $ 99 otherwise. The Athletics valued their cuts from $ 49 to $ 149.

The Angels said they have not decided whether to sell cutouts for their home games.
