On “Today” he said, “I think we’re just so divided, because people just seem to hate. You know?
“This Christmas season is coming up,” Parton said. “But, we need that Christmas spirit of peace on earth and love for one another. We need to take it into the new year.
“And God knows, I hope next year will be better than this,” he added.

“A Holy Dolly Lee Christmas” is Parton’s first holiday album of 30 years and features songs with many artists, including Miley Cyrus and Jimmy Fallon.
Parton told her today that she had long wanted to do another Christmas album, and I had time to do it, because we were all kind of at home.
“So I started writing some of these original songs, and I collected some old classics,” he said. “And caught a bunch of friends, and we just went for it.”
Leave it to Parton to make us all feel good in such turbulent times.
He said, ‘We cannot save the world, but we can save the world we live in. “Maybe I’m dreaming. But I don’t think so.”
