Displays the first electric delivery van built for it by Amazon Revian

Amazon has released a video of the first functional example of an electric delivery truck being developed for it by startup electric maker Tomaker Revian.

The Futuristic Banks van has rounded corners, round headlamps and an Amazon logo on the grille.

The vehicle is built with the same technology as the Rivian R1T pickup that will enter production next year. Amazon does not disclose the range of the vehicle, but said it has a 360-degree camera system and various electronic driver aids to improve security.

It uses two digital displays that look similar to the R1T and have extra impact protection in the driver’s door and a bulkhead with a removable door that separates the driver’s compartment from the cargo area.

Amazon has taken a stake in several hundred million dollars of investment in Revion and has ordered the delivery of 100,000 vans by 2030 as part of its efforts to become a carbon-neutral company by 2040.
