Disney and Ford partner for the presentation of the new Bronco 2020 on July 13

From the 1964-65 Ford Magic Skyway World Fair to the 2020 Ford Bronco, Disney is no stranger to partnering with car brands, and on July 13, Ford will unveil the newly redesigned Bronco 4 × 4 family of cars for viewers. from Disney various media networks, such as ABC, ESPN, National Geographic and Hulu. This marks the first prime-time product reveal on Disney’s broadcast, cable, digital and broadcast properties.

At a time when consumers are pinching pennies in the wake of the pandemic, Ford will need all the pixie dust to entice people to buy. In fact, securing an early production spot will cost you $ 100. Pre-orders will open on the Ford website beginning July 13 at 8 PM (ET). Reservations are refundable.

The partnership with Disney itself is costing the company a penny, as it has been revealed to be “a paid integration and a partnership,” complete with advertising. The ads themselves will direct viewers to the Ford site to make their reservations.

From CNBC:

Ford worked with Disney CreativeWorks, the company’s creative agency, to create custom three-minute videos for each network to debut the vehicles. The videos will air during the first commercial breaks of the 8 pm broadcast on each network, followed by the Hulu streaming service beginning the next day.

Each “movie” has a special guest: professional climber Brooke Raboutou for ESPN’s “SportsCenter”; country music singer Kip Moore for ABC’s “CMA Best of Fest”; and Academy Award-winning director Jimmy Chin, a professional climber, will highlight another Bronco during “National Parks: Yosemite” in National Geographic. Chin, director of photography and photographer, also helped Ford create the spaces for each of the networks, VanDyke said.

“We absolutely intend to do our best and make sure the Bronco gets the glory it deserves. We are very excited about this partnership that is so unique with Disney to co-create it, “VanDyke said.” We believe it will draw a great deal of additional interest to our own properties and will simply make this reveal one that we will never forget. “

A fun fact about the launch revolves around the infamous OJ Simpson, who drove a 1993 Ford Bronco during the police chase that followed shortly after the murder of his ex-wife. The launch was initially scheduled for July 8, which would have coincided with Simpson’s birthday. Neither brand was particularly interested in the inappropriate coincidence.

The last time Ford produced a bronco was in 1996, the same year that World of Motion closed at EPCOT. The company hopes to unveil a full suite of vehicles, including the two-door and four-door versions of the classic off-road SUV and a compact version known as the Bronco Sport.
