Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin live results, updates

(All times BST)

Round 2: Whyte continues to make his shots beautiful and he alternates the lands between jabs on the face and solid body shots as Povetkin enters. However, the challenger remains aggressive, and the Englishman will need to remain alert for some time to avoid hot water. 10-9 Whyte, 20-18

Round 1: It’s Povetkin who’s looking to open first doors to a tentative feel-out process, but Whyte quickly warns the jab to find skin more often than not, while many of the Russians’ shots are blocks. Slim advantage for Whyte to begin with. 10-9 Whyte

23:00: Great entries for both challenger and champion. Four weeks of intriguing back-garden bouts climax with this grand. Introductions and definitive instructions are now in the books, and … here we go!

10:45 a.m .: All that remains is the main event. Dillian Whyte (27-1, 18 KOs) vs. Alexander Povetkin (35-2-1, 24 KOs), 12 rounds before the WBC Interim World Championship. The WBC are approaching that tonight’s winner will face Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder, depending on whether that trilogy fight happens or not.

Katie Taylor defeated Delfine Persoon by unanimous decision to retain unanimous lightweight titles

10:32 am: Katie Taylor retains the titles through unanimous decision. There is certainly an argument for two of the three scorecards at 96-94, but the third is 98-93 Taylor! What !?

10:30 a.m .: And a great rematch ends with a Hollywood two-minute finale. Absolutely brilliant open exchanges, but as well as several rounds in the first fight, Taylor starts strong before spending the second half of the stanza that takes far too much of Person. I have the level at five rounds per piece. Now to see what the judges think this time …

10:25 a.m .: Person is a MACHINE. Stalking, pressure, landing. From two rounds down, they still earn two in seven and eight for 4-4 with two rounds left, but Taylor does just enough to catch the challenger who enters round nine to run back in front 5-4. Time for the final round!

10:15 p.m.: Round four is the roughest so far, infested with claws and blocked shooters. Taylor reverses the style in the fifth, but again after losing two rounds, Person returns and her work ethic leads to her overseas champion in the sixth. For me, it’s after six rounds to two in Taylor’s favor.

10:05 a.m .: Three laps in and Taylor looked inch-perfect in the first two, moving and striking just how she liked Persoon’s eye early and swelled. Round three is the Belgian’s first good round so far and a necessity to pull back on the cards while cutting some good lands together and starting to drag the champion a bit.

9.30 pm: Well, we’m waiting for head support. Katie Taylor vs. Dolphin Person, Part Two, for Taylor’s United Lightweight Titles. Their first fight on June 1, 2019 was incredible. Will we finally get a conclusive finish?

Chris Congo defeats Luther Clay via ninth-round TKO to win WBO World Welterweight Championship

9:25 a.m .: The towel goes into the ninth round, and Congo moves to 12-0 with its seventh win in the distance. A class performance from the undefeated Congo, who had Clay in the fifth in the fifth before stepping on the pressure again in round nine. A knockdown of the left hook is visible at every angle and they bring it to a standstill.

8:40 a.m .: We join the big two fights. First, a contest that the show could pose as Luther Clay (13-1, 5 KOs) meets Chris Kongo (11-0, 6 KOs) for the WBO World Championships in welterweight in a 10-round.

Alen Babic defeats Shawndell Winters via TKO in second round

8:25 a.m .: Two rounds is all it takes for Babic to overcome Winters. Forty seconds remained in the second when the official whipped it up after a knockdown. Babic also initially forced a count on Winters. He is 4 for 4 in both wins and stops.

8:15 a.m .: Bolt two is Alen Babic (3-0, 3 KOs) vs. Shawndell Winters (13-3, 12 KOs) over eight rounds at heavyweight. Will Babic’s ‘The Savage’ make it a fourth straight decisive victory in so many battles?

Jack Cullen and Zak Chelli battled for a 10-round split draw

8:05 a.m .: We go to the judges’ scorecards for a comfortable 10 rounds. It looked to me like Chelli did enough from a technical standpoint in a close game, and they read 97-93 Chelli, 96-95 Cullen, and eventually 95-95. We put Fight Camp 4 out with a split draw!

19:15: We are about to get walks for the opener: Jack Cullen (18-2, 9 KOs) vs. Bag Chelli (7-1, 3 KOs), 10 rounds at super-middleweight. Cullen steps up to super-mid, while Chelli goes downhill after the defeat the last time out in the light-heavyweight divisions.

19:05 hours: Approximate first clock times for all five attacks this evening: 19:10 Cullen vs. Chelli – 8 Hours Babic Vs. Winters – 8:45 p.m. Clay vs. Congo – 9:30 p.m. Taylor vs. Person – 10:15 p.m. Povetkin

19:00: Good and welcome! We have here live updates from Matchroom Fight Camp 4, headed by Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin and Katie Taylor vs. Dolphin Person.
