Detailed use of Super Nintendo World’s power-up band Amoeba

Shigeru Miyamoto recently revealed in a quick line from Super Nintendo World Direct that the park’s power-up bands will act as amoebos. Instead of a one-time souvenir, anyone visiting the Universal Studios Japan area will have a Super Mario ‘figure’ that will stand out from the rest of your collection.

As shared on the dedicated power-up band Amoeba page, the six bands act as their respective Mario characters. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi and Todd will now technically become the first new amoeba of 2021 when the Super Nintendo World Opening takes place in February.

Interestingly, it is noted that this will not work as an amoeba with Wii U or 3DS systems. This may be due to internal differences in power-up bands compared to amoebae, or the matter of older systems is no longer updated.

Power-up bands will be available when Super Nintendo World opens on February 4, 2021. Although international travel and theme park visits are not possible, both of these “amibo” parks are U.S. Will also come in versions when they finally open in Universal. Studio Hollywood and Florida – which are delayed indefinitely in later episodes.

While he’s not writing for the Nintendo Wire, Ricky predicted that the next Kirby, Fire Imblem, or if the stars ever aligned, Mother 3 would be released. Until then he will have the warm rest of the Super Smash Brothers to keep it going.
