Demon’s Souls has been reviewed in South Korea, suggesting that the game may only be a few months away from launch. This could potentially put it in the PS5 release window – if not on the day the console launches, at least a few weeks later. The game is only announced for PS5, so this is not a case of it arriving on the PS4 earlier.
Demon Souls’ long-awaited remake, thanks to Bluepoint Studios, was unveiled during Sony’s first ShowStation 5 showcase. Although a release date was not indicated at that reveal, this recent rating list indicates that it may not be far away.
Rating shots are different from retailers because they generally only appear close to launch. Currently, the only other Sony title to be mentioned on the same rating list is Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which Sony has said will be coming this holiday with the PS5. As Gematsu also points out, past lists on the South Korean rating board have all taken place within a handful of months before release.
Here’s a nice little note about Sony Interactive Entertainment titles that have been rated in Korea that gives more credibility to the possibility that Demon’s Souls is a PS5 launch / launch window title: pic.twitter.com/hBNJocmq8f

Sony still has a lot to communicate about the PS5, the most important being the price. Another PS5 stream is apparently still taking place this month, hot on the heels of the console’s first global advertising pot. Developers on PS5 exclusive have also detailed some of the features they incorporate into the console’s new DualSense controller, from securing triggers to directional vibration.
Demon’s Souls originally launched on the PS3 and exclusively in Japan, before making its way to the West. In GameSpot’s original Demon Souls review, critic Kevin Van Ord praised what would become a new genre, saying: “If you know about true innovation, an honest but persistent challenge, and gripping exploration in which every step has consequences, then desire you to Demon’s Souls. “
