A Republican group “Never Trump” has released a new attack announcement with a former Navy Seal that says Donald Trump is weak, non-conservative and the easiest problem to solve in the country.

Veterans for Responsible Leadership founder Dan Barkhuff says in the latest video from the 2020 Project Lincoln election campaign that the president does not respect the Constitution.

“Protecting our freedom and the rules of the game is a fundamentally conservative act,” says Barkhuff in the video. “President Trump shows no such respect for the constitution, he and his cronies do not respect freedom of assembly, due process, and the rights of states.”

The video is narrated on images from the Black Lives Matter protests, federal police make arrests during riots in Portland and the president poses with a Bible in front of the Church of San Juan.

It is the latest in a series of videos of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, which have compared the president to Biff Tannen of Return to the future, dubbed his Fox News interview with a Seinfieldlaughter style, and questioned what Ghislaine Maxwell has about the president.

Since its formation in December, the Lincoln Project has raised $ 20 million from donors, including Walmart heir Christy Walton, Silicon Valley angel investor Ron Conway, hedge fund billionaire Andy Redleaf, and oil executive Sidney Jansma Jr.

The super-PAC was created by leading Republican Party agents, including George Conway, husband of presidential adviser Kellyanne Conway, and Steve Schmidt, who worked on John McCain’s 2008 campaign.

Schmidt responded to reports Monday on Twitter. The New York Post He tried and failed to join the Trump campaign in 2016, saying he was offered a role three times, but declined.

“I would rather be dead than dishonor myself and my children’s names working for Trump,” said Schmidt.

In a launch manifesto published in The New York TimesThe founders of the Lincoln Project stated: “We are Republicans and we want Trump to be defeated.”

“The 2020 general election, by all indications, will be about persuasion,” they wrote. “Our efforts are aimed at persuading … disgruntled Republican and independent conservatives with a Republican bias in states and districts.”

In an effort to persuade disaffected Republicans, the group has engaged in practices similar to other pro-Trump Republican PACs, according to a report from the Campaign Finance Watchdog Responsive Policy Center released in May.

“The Republican super PAC has amassed a substantial war chest, but has come under scrutiny for funneling money to its advisory board members and spending relatively few political ads on the air to influence voters,” the report said.

“The group also hides some of its suppliers by stealthily paying subcontractors, making it difficult to track money. The Lincoln Project reported that it spent nearly $ 1.4 million through March. Almost all of that money went to board members and companies. administered by them. “

A Trump campaign spokeswoman, Erin Perrine, rejected the latest announcement of the Lincoln Project attack.

“This is the swamp once again trying to bring down the duly elected president of the United States,” Perrine said in a statement shared with The hill.

“President Trump is the leader of a united Republican party in which he garnered 94 percent of the Republican vote during the primaries, something any former president of any party could only dream of.”
