Warnermedia’s Crunchyroll and Adult Swim team are being formed Shenmu, The original anime series of 13-episodes based on the Sega game franchise. The co-production will flow on crunchyrolls worldwide outside of Japan and outside mainland China, and domestic U.S. Will be broadcast on the Tunami of Adult Swim.
Shenmu Rio follows Huzuki’s journey. After witnessing the murder of his father in the family dojo, Rio dedicates his life to finding the person responsible – a mission that takes him through the streets of Yokosuka, Japan, to the sprawling metropolis of Hong Kong and beyond. He will soon learn that large, mystical forces are in the game while he trains to become the ultimate martial artist in his quest for revenge.
Shenmu Co-produced by Crunchyroll and Adult Swim Productions. Sakurai Chikara (One Punch Man, Naruto’s Season Two) directs animation production through telecom animation film, and production management provided by Sola Entertainment. Video game creator U Suzuki is also onboard as an executive producer.
