DC Comics & DC Universe Hit By Layoffs As Part Of WarnerMedia Cuts – Deadline


Warner Bros. ‘DC Entertainment was one of the divisions hit hard today by the company’s dismissals.

The high-profile DC departures include Bob Harras, DC editor-in-chief; Hank Kanalz, SVP Publishing Strategy and Support Services; Bobbie Chase, VP, Global Publishing Initiatives & Digital Strategy; Brian Cunningham, senior story editor has confirmed. Warner Bros. has no comment. Jim Lee remains DC Chief Creative Officer.

Introducing the streaming world, the original lead of the digital platform has increased since WarnerMedia announced the launch of HBO Max following its acquisition by AT&T. The dismissal of DC Comics has also affected DC Universe in its evolved function as a fandom destination.

DC Universe has only one exclusive original series, Titans; Doompatrol is now shared with HBO Max.
