‘Dancing with the Stars’ Judge Bruno Tonioli, producer defends Tyra Banks after show tragedy: ‘It’s not her fault’

Executive producer Andrew Linares and Judge Bruno Tonioli have come to the rescue of Tyra Banco, “dancing with the stars.”

The new host had an accident on Monday night’s show, which led him to incorrectly name which contestants were safe from elimination and which contestants were at the bottom.

At the time, the former host of “America’s Next Top Model” was blaming the situation on the controlroom and the pain of live TV, but viewers criticized her online.

Lin Linares, 46, backed Banks in a recent interview and assured fans that the mistake of removing the broadcast was “not Tyra’s fault.”

“That was the issue behind the scenes,” the producer told Entertainment tonight.

He added: “I was in the control room when this happened. It’s one of the most dramatic moments of the show when votes and results came out, but we were a little more dramatic than we had hoped for yesterday, a way to go.

“There was a technical issue because real votes were coming in last night,” Linares added. “What happened was, Tyra really had the wrong names on her card.”

The “Dancing with the Stars” producer then praised Banks for how she dealt with the confusion.

“I think she did a wonderful job of improving the way she came to be alive on this show. What she did is not an easy task,” he said. “There’s a lot of undoing criticism around Tyra, I think she’s doing an amazing job on this show. And I can’t be more thrilled with the way she’s dealt with this show this moment.”

“We are meeting today with everyone involved in the poll to make sure nothing like that happens today,” Linnares told ET.

Amid the criticism, Judge Tonyoli, 64, also backed the banks.

“It’s live television, things like this happen, especially when information comes in from across the country, voting is done and counting is done in such a short time.” “Tyra was brilliant … she was really good because she took control of the situation.”

The judge also addressed fan requests to bring back longtime hosts Tom Bergern and Erin Andrews, advising them to keep the comments to themselves and “let’s go [Tyra] Do it his way. “

He said, “It’s a bit boring without giving people a chance, all the negativity. Just let it be who she is. It’s great to work with her.”

Tonioli added: “We’re in a world that is always focused on the negative and I felt very upset. You can’t compare it to an apple pear, you know? You get different things, and you get things from someone. You have to do it your own way. ”
