Dana White offers an update on Nate Diaz’s return to the UFC

Nate Diaz might not be a super active contender in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. However, there is no denying that he is still one of the biggest superstars the promotion has ever seen. Despite not having a UFC world title, Diaz attracts huge PPV sales, thanks to his unprecedented microphone and superstar skills. Although he’s been out of fights since his last appearance at UFC 244, Dana White believes the ‘Stockton Slugger’ would fight again.

The Díaz brothers (Nick and Nate) have been two of the most outstanding MMA veterans in the UFC. Nick Diaz is currently retired, and Nate is only active in the welterweight division. Breaking a nearly three-year hiatus, Nate made his UFC comeback against Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 and earned a unanimous victory.

He returned soon against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 for the BMF belt. But, unfortunately, he faced a crushing defeat. Since then, Nate has been out of the fights in the UFC. However, UFC chief Dana White validated his revival in the promotion recently.

Speaking to Kevin Iole, Dana White clarified that Nate Díaz will fight again. Kevin took a query for White and asked if the ‘Stockton Slugger’ would ever enter the octagon or not. To which, White said, “Oh. Sure. I think Nate will fight again.”

However, it’s still unclear when Nate would return or who he would face next. According to speculation, Nate Díaz is expected to rematch Jorge Masvidal. The rematch has been in the cards since the original contest materialized. However, no official update has been provided in this regard.

Nate Diaz’s next opponent

Jorge Masvidal and Nate Díaz have a high probability of meeting again within the octagon. Meanwhile, the trilogy between McGregor and Díaz has also been around for years. Nate has caused both possible rematches multiple times. However, it is still far from materializing those battles.

In addition to Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal, Dustin Poirier was also scheduled to meet the youngest Diaz in the UFC cage. The duo finally met in a presser and the fight was ended. But the lightweight contest fell apart after Nate Díaz retired from the contest.
