Astronauts aboard International Space Station About a ton of new supplies have just arrived, including a million 23 million titanium space toilets.
Gear rode a private robotic today (October 5) Cygnus freightWhich arrived at the orbital lab at 5:32 a.m. EDT (0932 GMT).
NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy, who commands the station’s current mission 63, caught Cygnus with the station’s giant robotic arm at the time. The cargo craft was officially bolted on EDT (1201 GMT) at 1:10 a.m., while both spacecraft were flying 261 miles (420 kilometers) over the South Pacific Ocean, NASA officials said. Coincidentally, the docking took place at the beginning of World Space Week 2020, Oct Kto to celebrate the impact of space exploration and technology on daily life. 4 to 10 runs. Lasts up to 10.

Welcome to _space_station, Kalpana Chawla! Today we found the first Indian-origin astronaut Kalpana Chawla in space, named #Cygnus # NG14, but died in a shuttle Columbia crash. Like last time, @Astro_SIL and I captured the spacecraft pic.twitter.com/jMttWfj4TS5 October October, 2020
Cassidy and his two expedition of 63 soldiers, celibate Evan Wagner and Anatoly Ivanishin, can now begin to land Cygnus, who Starting Friday night (. Oct. 2) 7,624 lbs from NASA’s Wall Lopps flight facility in Virginia. (45,4588 kg) in cargo board.
The supplies include food, hardware, various scientific experiments and Universal waste management system, An invaluable new location toilet that will be tested for possible future use in orbit and on the moon.
Cygnus was built by Northrop Grumman, a Virginia-based company that has a NASA contract to fly a robotic reconnaissance mission to the space station. SpaceX has a similar deal, which it accomplishes using the cargo version of its Dragon Capsule. (SpaceX also has a NASA business crew deal and preparations Launch four astronauts on the station on 31 Oct October).
The Cygnus, Named S.S. Kalpana Chawla After one of the seven astronauts killed in the 2003 space shuttle Columbia crash, it was the 13th to reach the International Space Station and the 14th overall to take a flight.
S.S. Kalpana Chawla will be docked at the station till mid-December. It will then fly freely around the Earth for about two weeks, allowing researchers to conduct a board non-fire-safety experiment called Sapphire-V. The lighthouse will then make a suicide dive into the Earth’s atmosphere, disposing of several tons of astronaut waste in the process.
