Adam Kasiski, joint-CEO of the CD project, praised Cyberpunk 2077’s performance on the PS4 and Xbox One in the investors’ column.
Speaking earlier this week (and transcribed by Seeking Alpha) on Wednesday, Kasiski said the performance of Cyberpunk 2077 on the Base PS4 and Xbox One consoles is “surprisingly good, I would say, for such a vast world.” The CEO went on to say that while performance on these base consoles is lower than their “pro” counterparts (PS4 Pro and Xbox One X), it’s still surprisingly good.
Recently, CD Project introduced gameplay for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X versions of Cyberpunk 2077. “We had those extra three weeks and we achieved a lot in this final stretch,” Kasiski continued. “So, we believe the game is performing nicely on every platform. Of course, according to the platform capabilities, but not every platform should be great.”
The CEO is referring to the delay in Cyberpunk 2077, which pushed the game back to launch in November, with a worldwide release in December next month. There have been reports of delays due to game performance on the XB One X One and PS4 consoles, but Kasiski’s comments suggest that performance issues have been ruled out.
In a financial presentation earlier this week, the CD project leadership spoke of a marketing campaign for Cyberpunk 2077. With more than two weeks left until the game starts on November 10, we will see plenty more TV, radio and more. Advertisements for Cyberpunk 2077 broadcast in 55 regions worldwide.
