LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WKBT) – The La Crosse County Health Department announced its new process to notify companies when they are added to the Outbreak and Investigation page.

According to a press release, starting today, June 29, low or medium risk companies will not be notified unless they are your employee. When a business is identified as having high-risk exposure, the health department will contact them. Companies with a high risk of exposure will remain on the page for up to 14 days after the last known positive case. The page will be updated every day of the week before 4 p.m. M.

Jen Rombalski, director of the Health Department, said: “We want to remind people that this is not a means to blame or embarrass any of those businesses. Many of those companies on that list have been doing good practices and connecting with us to improve their practices and protect their employees. I want to acknowledge that there are some companies, despite doing their best, they might still have a case associated with their establishment. No one can fully control all the factors that come into play with the spread of COVID-19. “
