Humboldt County Joint Information Center Press Release:

Humboldt County’s confirmed case count of COVID-19 increased to 195, after six additional cases were reported today.

Today’s alert level is two and has not changed since the tool launched Thursday. This is due, in part, to the high demand for testing and testing supplies across the country, according to Dr. Teresa Frankovich, Humboldt County Health Officer.

Dr. Frankovich said that even with increased demand for tests and the slowest response time right now, virus detection remains a useful public health tool. “Some of our most recent cases have been individuals tested in commercial laboratories collected at the OptumServe site in Eureka or at your provider’s office, so we want to encourage people who do not experience symptoms to sign up for a test at Optum.” , said. . “People with symptoms, such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath, should contact their primary care provider or the Joint Information Center if they do not have a provider so they can be tested. Sick people should seek emergency care if symptoms become severe. “

Visit LHI.care/covidtesting or call 888-634-1123 to make an appointment at the OptumServe site at Redwood Acres in Eureka. Please note that only the available quotes will be displayed on the website. If there are no time slots available, return to the schedule.
