Humboldt County Joint Information Center Press Release:

Seven new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded since Friday. Three previously reported cases that were tested at a laboratory outside were determined to be false positions and have been removed from the total cases of cases. This means that the total number of Humboldt County residents confirmed that the virus has been transmitted by four has increased and now stands at 286.

Dr. Humboldt County Health Officer Teresa Frankovich said the lab discovered outside a problem with a whole specimen and did repeated tests on the specimens that were reported as positive. These repeated tests yielded negative results. Two of the three people applied for an extra round of tests at our local Public Health Laboratory, which again confirmed the negative results.

“We are busy reporting the data accurately and want our community to have the confidence that the numbers are accurate and that if an error occurs anywhere in the process, it will be corrected,” said Drs. Frankovich.

Today’s alarm level stands at three as level orange. Visit humboldtgov.org/dashboard to view the province’s Alert Level Assessment tool.
