GREAT FALLS – There were 57 new cases added to the total on the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map on Tuesday morning. One new death was also reported in Cascade County.
Big Horn County reported the most recent cases with 14, followed by Yellowstone County with seven and Flathead County with six. Glacier County added four new cases, and Lake County reported three.
The data below is from the official Montana website on August 18:
- TOTAL CASES & RECOVERIES: Montana now reports 5,846 cumulative cases stateless, with 4,206 people recovered.
- HOSPITALIZATIONS: There are currently 97 patients hospitalized. There have been 339 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
- DEATHS: The cumulative number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Montana is now 84, two up from yesterday.
- ACTIVE FALLEN: The state reports that there are currently 1,556 active COVID-19 cases in Montana.
- TESTING: The number of tests increased by 787 in the previous 24-hour reporting, for a new cumulative state-total of 205,512.
Numbers reported by the state each day differ at times from those reported by public health departments due to periodic delays in reporting data to the state. We encourage people to check the official website and / or Facebook page of their respective Department of Health Care for any updates that have not yet been included in the state’s daily updates.
The three counties in the KRTV viewing area with the most cases are Cascade, Lewis & Clark, and Phillips.
- CASCADE COUNTY: There have been 184 confirmed cases in Cascade County. Of these, 136 have been restored, and 43 are currently active. The City-County Health Department in Great Falls on Tuesday morning confirmed the fifth death in Cascade County, saying it was a man over the age of 65.
- PHILLIPS COUNTY: There have been 93 confirmed cases in Phillips County. Of those, 56 have been recovered, 37 are currently active, and there have been no deaths.
- LEWIS & CLARK COUNTY: There have been 180 confirmed cases in Lewis & Clark County. Of these, 115 have been restored, 63 are currently active, and two have died.
