GREAT FALLS – A total of 43 new cases were added to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map on Monday morning. Flathead County reported the most recent cases, with 15; Yellowstone County added 11, and Big Horn County added 10. Carbon County reported two new cases, and Cascade County added one.
The details below are from the official Montana website on August 17:
- TOTAL CASES & RECOVERIES: Montana now reports 5,792 cumulative cases stateless, with 4,162 people recovered.
- HOSPITALIZATIONS: There are currently 94 patients hospitalized. There have been 330 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
- DEATHS: The cumulative death toll attributed to COVID-19 in Montana remains at 82.
- ACTIVE FALLEN: The state reports that there are currently 1,548 active COVID-19 cases in Montana.
- TESTING: The number of tests increased by 2,801 in the previous 24-hour reporting, for a new cumulative state-total of 204,725.
Numbers reported by the state each day differ at times from those reported by public health departments due to periodic delays in reporting data to the state. We encourage people to check the official website and / or Facebook page of their respective Department of Health Care for any updates that have not yet been included in the state’s daily updates.
The three counties in the KRTV viewing area with the most cases are Cascade, Lewis & Clark, and Phillips.
- CASCADE COUNTY: There have been 183 confirmed cases in Cascade County. Of these, 136 have been recovered, 43 are currently active, and four have died.
- PHILLIPS COUNTY: There have been 93 confirmed cases in Phillips County. Of these, 41 have been restored, 52 are currently active, and there have been no deaths.
- LEWIS & CLARK COUNTY: There have been 178 confirmed cases in Lewis & Clark County. Of these, 111 have been recovered, 65 are currently active, and two have died.
