A government spokesman told CNN on Monday that there had been a sharp rise in new coronavirus cases in recent weeks.

According to the spokesman, 357 new cases were reported in Latvia on Friday – bringing the total number of infections to 7,476. Since the onset of the epidemic, 95 deaths have been reported in the country.

Most of the cases in the country were reported last month. As of October 1, only 1,945 cases were reported in Latvia.

Social contact has been frustrated since Monday. Only indoor gatherings with a maximum of 10 people from more than two households will be allowed. Rest Restaurants Rents will only be allowed to serve withdrawals, and stores will limit the number of insiders at the same time.
