Coronavirus update: Florida breaks record; Which states are adding cases? What states are not?

Florida experienced an increase of 15,300 new coronavirus cases in a 24-hour period, a record for the highest number in a single day of any state in the U.S.

Florida now has more than 269,000 cases of the virus, and Miami-Dade County reported 64,443 alone. The state has seen 4,241 deaths.

The United States has seen 3.2 million coronavirus cases with 135,000 deaths.

Cuomo predicts New York cases will increase due to other states

New York will likely see an increase in coronavirus cases due to travelers coming to the city from other places. Cuomo said that while the state has quarantine orders for travelers to COVID hot spots, including Alabama, enforcing them can be like “trying to catch water on a screen.”

Cuomo said it was a shame to see the virus re-emerge in New York after its own closure.

“The other states do not take the same precautions. It rises in the other states and will then return here from the other states. That is what is going to happen, “he said. “The only question is how high does our rhythm go? But you cannot have it in the whole country and not come back. Do you think no one comes here from California and these states?
