Officials said recently that the recent surge in novel coronavirus cases in Los Angeles County is likely to gather on Labor Day.
On Saturday, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health officials announced 13 new deaths and 1,343 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number of positive cases in the county to 259,817 and the total number of deaths linked to the virus to 6,330.
Officials said there are currently 732 people hospitalized, of which 31% are confirmed cases in the ICU.
However, the recent increase in daily cases is likely to be reflected in the “reopening of test sites and the number of people tested this past week,” officials said.
The mutated form of coronavirus may be more relevant, but much less, experts say.
Noting last week that the county’s test positivity rate was %%, he added: “We will be following our case number carefully this coming week.”
“We are working hard to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the county so that we can continue to open additional areas as safely as possible. The recent increase in the number of new cases is worrisome as it may reflect additional exposure associated with Labor Day activities, ”Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said in a statement.
“We are reminded that since our actions affect our recovery journey we need to choose carefully how to celebrate the holidays. The increase in past cases has resulted in more hospitalizations and more deaths. Do what you can to plan your vacation activities to avoid COVID-19 transmission by following public health distance and infectious control guidelines. We still need to reduce the number of new cases so that all students can return to school and reopen more business areas, ”he added.
The choice of coronavirus infection can be determined by the study group, using face masks.
The news comes after a recent conclusion that the novel’s virus may have been around Christmas before it was once thought in Los Angeles, perhaps before it was officially recognized in the US.

Researchers from the University of California, Los Angeles and Washington University in Washington discovered the spike in patients with acute respiratory failure and cough in UCLA health hospitals and clinics in late December 2019 when they analyzed health records. Findings published in a report in the journal Internet Internet Medical Research suggest that the novel coronavirus is surfacing months before the first case was officially identified in the area.
