On March 4, California officially recorded its first day with 10 new Covid-19 infections.

As of January 24, every day 10 new people are more than 50% more likely to be infected.

In fact, researchers now estimate that California reached that mark more than a month ago.
It had spread to America before anyone reacted.
Covid Storm
In the months before the travel ban and lockdown, Americans were spreading the virus across the country

The Street Journal interviewed disease investigators and reviewed hundreds of pages of new research to find out how the coronavirus infiltrated the world’s richest country. The latest genetic, epidemiological and computational research suggests that it was spreading in the country before anyone started searching.
How did this happen?

Preliminary testing in Ohio found that five women and one man who developed covid-like symptoms in early January had antibodies to the virus, which qualified as a potential “infection.” They lived on opposite corners of the state, 200 miles away. Although not conclusive, model dealing experts say these findings are consistent with the pace of post-epidemic outbreaks.

Screening began on air travelers, but only those coming from Wuhan, China, where the virus originated, and only at airports in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and at JFK in New York. A handful of sick people were identified, but scientists say more have been missed. By the end of January, more than half a million people had migrated from China to the US
While the country was still looking outward, researchers now believe that the initial infection in many states came largely from travel to the U.S.

The virus was now spreading to 10 new people every day in California, according to estimates by researchers at Northeastern University’s Network Science Institute.

As the virus spreads in the U.S., non-U.S. Arrival was banned by residents.

The disease had taken root in New York. Subsequent genetic analysis shows that at least seven different strains may occur in New York City by this date, mostly in Europe and the U.S.

A 57-year-old woman has died in Santa Clara County, Calif. Considered the first known death of Kovid-19. She did not yet know how she caught the virus.

U.S. The test kit was shut down earlier this month due to problems. Northeastern researchers found that 15 states had better control of the virus. In Colorado, the spread probably started in the skiers arriving for the peak peak season, according to David Bortez, a professor of applied mathematics at the University of Colorado and a member of the state’s Covid-19 modeling team.

It is far more likely that local transmission of the virus was ongoing in 24 states.
A swab was collected from the door handle of a public building in Gainesville, Fla., For routine flu studies, which later turned out to be carrying the virus. Genetic analysis has shown that stress is closely related to samples found in the Puget Sound area of Washington this week.

How fast did the disease spread? Participated in large gatherings such as the Biogen K Conference Conference in Boston on February 26-27. Tensions imported from France spread among the attendees. Genetic reconstruction and case history show they took it to North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Sequencing shows that tensions were also established in Massachusetts and Virginia.

As February drew to a close, there was an excellent opportunity for local transmission of the virus in 37 states, according to Northeastern researchers.
Why was the country in darkness? Played a part in the lack of testing. Researchers believe that we are looking for a very small percentage of the typical Covid-19 patients in the beginning of the month, mid-February.

Cruz was another vector. In early March, the ship, blocked from docking in San Francisco, focused on the Grand Princess. But, since February 11, more than 100 people, who later sailed on nine different ships on the Nile River for the Covid-19 set. The agency did not ban cruises in U.S. waters until March 14, two days before the U.S. closed the door to the arrival of most air passengers from Europe. By this point, the virus was firmly embedded throughout the country.
