Coronavirus hospitalization continues in Orange County; No new COVID deaths have been reported

Anaheim, California. (CNS) – Orange County officials on Sunday reported 170 new cases of Covid-19 and no additional deaths, with 50,930 cases reported in the county, with a total of 1,093 deaths.

The number of hospital admissions in the county continued to fall from 215 on Saturday to 196, while the number of intensive care unit patients dropped from 65 to 58, the Orange County Health Care Agency said.

The county has a daily count of 5.2 per 100,000 people and a seven-day rate of 4.2% of residents who test positive for coronavirus.

The OHCA reported that 7,737,5588 COVID-19 tests were performed on Sunday, including 13,1 including6 reports. There have been 45,197 documentary recoveries.

The numbers came as people were returning to the county’s movie theaters this weekend. Regal Cinemas reopened on Irvine Spectrum and AMCA reopened its major locations in the county – both with limited capacity to protect against further spread of the virus.

Amid promising case trends, OC tops the state’s COVID-19 tracking list

Orange County was upgraded from purple to red in California’s coronavirus monitoring system last week. The move allowed the resumption of indoor operations for churches, theaters and other businesses, but had strict limits on its capacity and other health measures.

Theaters, restaurants and churches are limited to 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is less. Museums, zoos and even aquariums can reopen indoor activities at 25% capacity. Shopping centers can expand from 25% capacity to half capacity under the red level, while the gym can be reopened, but at a capacity of 10%.

Theater chains are also installing many other security protocols.

Regal guests will need to wear a face mask at all times except when eating and drinking in the dormitory. Two empty seats will be maintained between the groups, and the chain is “increasing our fresh air intake by 50% -100% from normal levels (which will help circulate more fresh air in the auditoriums).”

Regal employees will be subjected to daily health checks including a mandatory temperature check, washing their hands every 30 to 60 minutes, and all employees will be required to wear a mask.

Guests can purchase discounts from the mobile app while in the theater, but menu offer ferries have been reduced, and self-service condiment stands are closed.

Regal’s Edwards Elisso Vijo and IMAX theaters also opened on Saturday.

AMC, meanwhile, reopened its Orange County multiplex by Saturday, including Anaheim Gardenvalk 6, Dine-in Fullerton 20, Orange 30 and Tustin 14 in the district.

There are equal capacity restrictions and safety protocols for guests and staff at AMC locations.
