Ever since Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, started dating Prince Harry in 2016, she’s been the subject of much negative press. This made her time in the royal family rather difficult, and named according to a new biography Find freedom, Meghan felt she did not receive much support from other royals.
However, not every fan is convinced with the claim that Meghan was not supported by the royal family. In fact, they believe Meghan received substantial help.
Meghan Markle felt ‘unprotected’ by the royal family
In the fall of 2019, Meghan and Harry began prosecuting a number of British tabloid newspapers for invading their privacy. According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Meghan also felt “unprotected” by the royal family, especially when she was pregnant and had to deal with constant criticism in the press.
Find freedom also claimed that Meghan wanted more support from her sister-in-law, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Kate would not reach out, however, even when Meghan wrestled with the tabloids.

According to some fans, however, the idea that Meghan did not receive support from the royal family does not hold.
The fans quote the story Find freedom of Kate that Meghan gave her number and told her to call. Then there’s the recent Daily Mail story about Camilla Parker Bowles bringing Meghan to lunch for Meghan’s wedding. Camilla is the wife of Prince Charles who has been dealing with negative press and public scrutiny for decades. These fans believe that these alleged moves of Kate and Camilla prove that Meghan had support in the royal family.

On paper, it seems Camilla can be a good mentor to Meghan, given her long history of being vilified by the press. Some fans, however, point to rumors that Harry may not have found Camilla that much, which could explain why Meghan apparently did not listen to her.
“If one believes gossip, then Harry has never really taken saber to Camilla – he tolerates her saber alone and is civil, but that’s just it,” one Reddit user wrote. “If it’s true, it may give an insight into why their advice may not have been listened to.”
Another person pointed out that although Camilla has experience dealing with negative media reports, in the minds of some people, she deserves it because she was the “other woman” in the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
As one fan put it, “In leaks from sources close to the Sussexes, it was often pointed out that Meghan did not even do anything to have bad press. What I took rather as an implication of ‘yes, Camilla had years of terrible press, but she “What, again, Harry might think that Camilla deserves every bit of bad press she gets rich.”
Of course, these are just speculations at the end of the day, and we do not know for sure what really happened between Meghan and the other royals.
