Construction work begins at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa before NBA arrival

Yesterday it was officially announced that the NBA would be heading to Walt Disney World to end its 2019-20 season by playing at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Of course, this means taking players to the Walt Disney World Resort and needing accommodation for all players and their guests. Players are expected to stay at the Grand Destination Tower in Coronado Springs, the Yacht Club, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Before his arrival, construction appears to have begun at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for the NBA. Thanks for our friend on Twitter, @ScottGustin, we can provide you with pictures of the construction work.

Above we are seeing construction crews begin to add fences around the complex areas, to create the “bubble,” which we have heard a lot about. This is to keep players and their guests safe, along with the cast members who work at the resorts.

Along with this, players will not have access to the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks and food will be provided by the team’s private chefs and Walt Disney World culinary staff.
