An aircraft crashed at La Nubia airport

Around 3:45 pm this Saturday, April 3, an emergency was registered at the La Nubia airport in Manizales, where an aircraft left the runway and overturned.

It is an ultralight plane that went off the runway and ended up with the tires up.

“Its two occupants have already been removed from the aircraft. People are valued at this time by the aeronautical firefighters of La Nubia ”, said the UGR Manizales.

La Nubia airport reported that a private ultralight, a tenant of one of the hangars at La Nubia airport, left with his pilot for a local overflight. At the time of landing, the aircraft had a mishap and made some turns on the runway and ended up in the green zone. There were no injuries in the incident.

From La Nubia it is reported that at that time the last commercial flight to Bogotá had already departed.

At the moment the airport is closed while Aerocivil personnel arrive to comply with the investigation process that is usually done in these cases.

Normal operations are expected to resume tomorrow.
