Curfew in Villavicencio and El Meta at the end of the year

The Governor of Meta, Juan Guillermo Zuluaga, reported in the last hours that the curfew hours will be extended for the entire department this weekend starting from Thursday, December 31st.

The measure has already been requested to the Ministry of the Interior and sets the following schedules to restrict the exit to the street of citizens and tourists in Villavicencio and other parts of Meta:

  • Thursday, December 31: curfew from 10 pm to Saturday 2 at 6 am
  • Saturday January 2: from 12 m. until Sunday 3, at 6 am.
  • Sunday January 3: from 12 m. until 12 pm the same day.

The measures announced by the governor are given because the ICU occupation at Villavicencio Hospital is like this: non-COVID-19 patients (100%) and COVID-19 patients is 90%; Occupancy due to emergencies is 164%.

According to Zuluaga, the numbers of contagion and deaths are increasing in that city and in the department, so he advises families to take care of themselves because the virus “is not a game.”

In addition to the capital of Meta, another of the municipalities very affected by the pandemic is Girardot (in Cundinamarca), traditionally one of the destinations preferred by Bogota citizens to spend Christmas and the end of the year. In the last hours it was known that this area of ​​the department already registers 100% ICU occupancy.
