Andrés Felipe Guevara, 27, was attacked with gunshots when he was in the company of a friend in the Mariano Ramos neighborhood, southeast of Cali. Andrés Felipe Guevara Henao, 27, was the victim of a hit man attack when he was in the company of a friend in the Mariano Ramos neighborhood, southeast of Cali. Guevara worked in the judicial section of the newspaper Q’hubo. The journalist was hit by the shots four times: two in the stomach, one in the thorax and another in the leg. After the attack, he was transferred to a clinic in Cali to undergo surgery. Although on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 22, the family reported that he had awakened and was responding favorably to treatment, this Wednesday, December 23, he passed away.

In the events, which occurred around 9 p.m. on Monday, December 21, Jorge Andrés Arbeláez López, who was with the reporter, was also injured.
Guevara studied social communication and journalism at the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente de Cali. He has been working at Q’hubo for three years. According to close friends, colleagues and acquaintances, the victim had not received threats. The facts are the subject of investigation by the authorities.
The Foundation for Press Freedom regretted the death of Guevara and reiterated the demand that the authorities investigate “with speed and impartiality this case and that they take as their first hypothesis the work of the journalist in Q’hubo.”
