The National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane) reported this Wednesday that a total of 88,854 deaths were registered in Colombia between July and September 2020.

Of that number, 58.3% were men and the remaining 41.7% were women.

The figure indicates an increase of 52.1% in relation to deaths in the same period of 2019, which is explained by the more than 40,000 deaths reported until this December 23 by COVID-19.

For this reason, deaths are also concentrated in the age groups between 80 and 84 years (12.7%), followed by the group of people between 75 and 79 years (11.1%).
