Three brothers, ages 11 and 13, try to survive a real tragedy after their father, who was single, died of COVID-19
and infect them with the disease.
They are Moisés and his twin brothers Antonio and Sydney, who live in California, under the care of an aunt who sheltered them after their father Abraham Amezcua was found dead in their home.
“On Thursday, December 10, Abraham Amezcua, tragically passed away at his home, found deceased by his eldest son, Moisés. He was fighting COVID-19 at home and did not spend the night ”, described a cousin of the Amezcua children in an initiative in GoFundMe
looking for resources for its support.
Abraham, who worked as a stevedore in the port of Los Angeles, lived with financial problems, but struggled until the last moment to raise his children.
According to some local media, Abraham owed six months on his home mortgage and fell behind in paying for electricity and water, services that could be suspended if not paid.
“The water and electricity company has notified that they will cut off the water and electricity in one week, on December 23, if all the late payments are not made. The family is in dire need of financial support at this time. The children are lucky to have an aunt who loves them and who will take care of them, but she is also unemployed and under financial pressure, ”said the children’s relative on GoFundMe.
“These children are devastated by the loss of their beloved father and the wonders of Christmas will be forever stained in their hearts. These are precious children who cannot take care of themselves, ”he added.
