As of December 22 and until January 4, 2021, Antioquia will be on a hospital red alert. Aníbal Gaviria, governor of Antioquia, announced this Monday, December 21, that the department will adopt new measures for the management of COVID-19. “After meeting with all the mayors of the department, we ratified our decision to declare a hospital red alert,” he said. Likewise, Antioquia will implement a night curfew, which will be in force between 00:00 and 6:00 in the morning, from this Wednesday, December 23 to January 3.

For the celebration of Christmas and New Year the measure is extended. “The Curfew will rule continuously in the Aburrá Valley, the East, the Southwest and the West from 8:00 p.m. on December 24 to 6:00 a.m. on December 26, and from 8:00 at night on December 31 until 6:00 in the morning on January 2, “the governor reported.

Faced with the increase in COVID-19 cases in Antioquia, where there are more than 7,000 active cases, the Government decided to preventively turn off the Christmas lights; the mayors of each municipality will define the days and hours.
