During the month of April The Last of Us Part 2 was on everyone’s lips. First, because the game launch was delayed -in its time indefinitely- by Sony, and then by the huge leak of the game that was disclosed on YouTube and different social networks.
The leak contained details of the story and much of TLOU2’s cinematics, prompting Sony to take action, and within hours not only addressed the issue, but announced a new release date for the developed title. by Naughty Dog.
The novelty now comes from the Polygon portal, where they claim to have received a comment from Sony where from the company they claim to have found those responsible for the leaks, while investigations continue. Sony’s statement to Polygon is as follows:
“SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainmnet) has identified the primary individuals responsible for the unauthorized release of the TLOU2 assets. They are not affiliated with Naughty Dog or SIE. We cannot comment further because the information is subject to an ongoing investigation. We look forward to when The Last of Us Part 2 is in your hands and you can enjoy the full experience on June 19. “
We imagine that legal action will be quite harsh on the leakers, primarily due to the speed with which Sony has worked on the investigation and taken steps to prevent mass spread as much as they could, as well as finding the culprits.
