Former President Álvaro Uribe seems to have gone from words to action when it comes to the 2022 elections. His farm El Ubérrimo, in Montería, in recent days has become the epicenter of political action in the downtown sectors. right.
In his rural estate, he met less than two weeks ago with Alirio Barrera, the former governor of Casanare, whom the former president would like to see in the electoral contest; but also last Friday he had a meeting with Dilian Francisca Toro, the largest female voter in Valle del Cauca; and with the Char family, the most powerful on the Caribbean Coast, politically speaking.

It is no secret to anyone that the head of the Democratic Center has pointed out the need to create a great coalition of sectors of the center right to confront the left in the next elections.
Moreover, it has been repetitive in the sense of pointing out that “beware of 2022”.
That is why the meetings he has had on his farm are not free. It is clear that it is a way of approaching other political actors, of looking for coincidences and of knowing what they are thinking.
Specifically so far it is raising two issues: a large coalition with many candidates who could participate in a consultation.
This is how in the meeting with the Char, which was attended by the head of the clan, Fuad; the former mayor of Barranquilla, Alejandro (with presidential aspirations), and Arturo, the president of the Senate, the matter was addressed.
At this meeting, Uribe was presenting his arguments on the situation in the country and the problems that will come from the pandemic.
After this he spoke of the need for a great coalition of sectors related to the right to confront the left. And, according to a source told EL TIEMPO, he insisted to Arturo Char that he be a presidential candidate within that great coalition.
Basically he told them that the idea is to have a group of candidates from various sectors, who would finally define the presidential candidate through a consultation.
According to the source, Alejandro told him that he had doubts about whether this is the best time to formalize a presidential aspiration.
Char told Uribe that he had a work in Barranquilla to do and defend, that nationally the matter was not easy and that his eventual aspiration could generate a lot of annoyance in some sectors.
In any case, political leaders close to the Char insist that Alejandro does have presidential aspirations and that if he does not manage to be a presidential candidate, he could be a formula for the vice presidency.

Dilian
In Dilian’s case, everything indicates that for now what she wants is close-ups. Perhaps thinking about that is that the former senator was not going into details about what could be called the electoral mechanics, but rather his interest was to talk about country issues, about concerns.
For example, it was learned that Dilian, who has presidential aspirations, spoke about the new economic reality of the country, the covid, the priorities that the new government should have and the referendum that he wants to promote-
In any case, the former governor of Valle, who attended the breakfast accompanied by some congressmen from ‘the U’ of Córdoba, She reiterated that she is a clear defender of security and authority issues, but also of the implementation of the peace accords.
Uribe reiterated the need, from his point of view, to make reforms to the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP).
They spent a long time talking about social issues and projects that are required for the country.

Meanwhile, with Barrera, although they were talking about horses and cattle, the issue was to ask him to get on the list of candidates for his party.
Barrera was governor of Casanare on behalf of the Democratic Center and He was the only one who in recent years managed to finish his mandate. His administration managed to zero the public debt and was distinguished, which is why Uribe is struck by it.
However, it is clear that this is just beginning, but that Uribe does not want him to take the night with his presidential candidate to confront the left. He wants to have a coalition of many sectors, including conservatives and Christians, and many applicants running, to elect the best.
Therefore, it is evident that the appointments in El ubérrimo will continue with various political actors.
