A gigantic coup by the Bolívar authorities left as a result 43 members of the Clan del Golfo captured. Among those arrested are 5 leaders of this dangerous criminal structure.
According to the official report, it was an operation called Neptune and it took nine months to execute.
300 men from the Attorney General’s Office, the Police and the Navy participated here.
Those captured must answer for crimes such as drug trafficking, extortion and homicide, all of which occurred in the municipalities that make up the Montes de María.
Captain Javier Rubio, Chief of Staff of the Caribbean Naval Force, revealed more details about Operation Neptune.
“It allowed to dismantle the finance, command and control structure of this criminal structure. This is how we help the security and trust of a region appreciated by the Navy like the Montes de María ”, revealed Rubio.
The detainees had their capture legalized in Magangué, Bolívar.
