Colbert mocked Bill Clinton for criticizing Trump behavior in the White House

The Late Show host Stephen Colbert mocked Bill Clinton on Tuesday night after the former commander-in-chief criticized the behavior of President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.

In a nod to the scandal over Clinton’s affair with then-White House Monica Lewinsky, Colbert said he did not think the former president could read “anyone” about what should happen in the Oval Office.

The comedian fired Clinton shortly after the former commander-in-chief knocked on Trump’s door and supported Biden in a speech on the second day of the Democratic National Convention.

“Donald Trump says we’re leading the world, well, we’re the only big industrial country that has tripled its unemployment,” Clinton said. “At a time like this, the Oval Office should be a command center, instead it’s a storm center. It’s just chaos.”

He also condemned the president for “hours a day by watching TV” and “zapping people on social media” amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Respond to the speech on the Late Show yesterday Colbert said, “Okay, that’s true, that’s a good point. But I do not think Bill Clinton will read anyone about what should happen in the Oval Office. Those in glass houses should not be allowed near ‘ the internship places. “

Earlier in the program, the cabaret also joked about Clinton’s connection to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his colleague Ghislaine Maxwell.

Commenting on an image of Clinton who looked spoiled, Colbert said, “Bill Clinton, here seen that Ghislaine Maxwell invented was just arrested.”

Newsweek has contacted a representative of former President Clinton for comment. This article will be updated with each comment.

In late July, Clinton once again refused to visit Epstein’s private Little St. James Island, after unsealed court documents revealed that Virginia Guiffre had told her lawyer that she had seen the former president on the island.

“I remember asking Jeffrey what Bill Clinton was doing here [on Epstein’s island] kind of thing, and he laughed it off and said well he owes me benefits, ‘Guiffre said.

“He has not spoken to Epstein in more than a decade, and has never been to Little St. James Island, Epstein’s farm in New Mexico, or his hometown in Florida,” Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña said Newsweek in a statement at the moment.

“He has not spoken well to Epstein for more than a decade,” Ureña added. “Even before his horrible crimes came to light.”
