Christopher Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor began a new era of Doctor Who. For some fans, he is their first Doctor. For others, he brought back a show they had been missing for decades. The Ninde Doctor’s run lasted only one season, but now he’s really coming back for some new adventures. BBC Studios and Big Finish are teaming up for a new Ninth Doctor audio series starring Christopher Eccleston. It’s the first time the actor has returned to the role since his 2005 release.
The series will be a collection of four box sets, with the first set in May 2021. Mater 2021. The following sets will debut in August 2021, November 2021, and February 2022. There are no current details on the plots, writers and other cast members. Mar, Doctor Who fans will no doubt grab their downloads and discs.
This is not the ninth doctor’s first trip into the world of Big Finish. Several narrative mini-stories, known as Short Trips and other collections embrace the character. These are fun adventures, but nothing beats the actual doctor back to his role. Nine’s only companion is Rose Tyler (fight us, Adam stans), so it’s almost a given that Billie Piper will replace her role as well. There is always a possibility that he could just enjoy solo adventures with one-time accompanists. Conspiracy theorist Clive Finch has some extensive stories about the Ninth Doctor that appeared after space and time.

Grand Finish chairman Jason Haigh-Ellery reveals that the conversation about Eccleston’s return took place in February. “I first talked to Christopher about going back to the role of the doctor at a fan convention in February this year,” Haigh-Ellery said. Christopher said he enjoyed meeting the fans and was glad his Doctor was so forgotten. I’m so glad Christopher has decided to return to the role with us – and I’m excited to welcome him into the Big Finish family as we discover the new adventures of the Ninth Doctor. ‘
Almost certainly the application for conclusions is Gallifrey One in Los Angeles. Eccleston was one of the main guests of that convention and fans greeted him with standing ovations during his two panels and lines near the building for photos and autographs. Love like that will make you want to hurry back.
