A virologist at the center of the coronavirus of China research has said that it is “nonsense” to suggest that the state has tried to steal the fax data from other nations. Dr Shi Zhengli, who heads a unit at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and was referred to as a “batwoman” because of her expertise on diseases related to mammals, has denied claims that China launched a vaccine-related attack on the FS had subsequent allegations last month.

Suggestions that hackers aligned with the Chinese government were focused on virus research that has surfaced in recent weeks, including from the US federal government. Experts say Russia-linked opponents are doing the same cyberoperations.
In late July, Reuters reported that hackers with ties to the Chinese state were trying to infiltrate American biotech company Modern in an attempt to hijack his COVID-19 data. The accusation was called “baseless” by a Chinese foreign affairs spokesman.

Earlier this month, the US Department of Justice unveiled an indictment in the name of two suspected hackers with links to the State Department of China, as MSS.
A media mogul at the time, who described the couple as a “productive threat to US networks”, said the suspects were “looking for vulnerabilities in the computer networks of developing companies” COVID-19 faxes, technology testing, and treatments. “It remains unclear if the attacks were successful.

“China’s fax investigation is currently at the forefront,” Shi said. “We isolate the virus strain all on our own and the whole research procedure is carried out by the Wuhan Institute of Virology and Wuhan Institute of Biological Products Company.
“The vaccination is being investigated by [academic] Chen Wei’s team, which also has its own intellectual property. I do not know if there is actual evidence for the US to claim that we stole their investigation. “
